Elastic Body

A body that returns to its original shape and size on the removal of the deforming force (when deform within elastic limit) is called an elastic body.

Example: Quartz fibre, Ivory ball and phospher bronze etc.

Elasticity

The property of matter by virtue of which it regains its original shape and size, when the deforming forces have been removed is called elasticity.

Example: If we stretch a spring and release, then it will regain its original size.

Plastic Body

A body that does not regain its original shape and size even after the removal of deforming force is called plastic body.

Example: Putti, Paraffin wax, Mud etc.

Plasticity

The property of a body by virtue of which it does not regain its original shape and size even after the removal of the deforming force, is said to be a plasticity.

Example: If we stretch a piece of Chewing Gum and release, it will not regain its original shape and size.
