Kinetic Equations Of Rotational Motion About a Fixed Axis

As we know that the three equation of a linear motion are

  • (I) v = u+at
  • (II) s = ut+1/2at²
  • (III) v² = u²+2as

Where, the symbols have their usual meaning.

In the similar way, we can write equations of motion for rotational motion such as

  • (I) ω = ω₀+αt
  • (II) θ = ω₀t+1/2αt²
  • (III) ω² = ω₀²+2α(θ-θ₀)

Where, θ₀ and ω₀ are the initial angular displacement and initial angular velocity of the body, respectively.
