Rest

If the position of an object does not change with respect to its surrounding with the passes of time, it is said to be at rest.

Example:- A book lying on the table.

Motion

If the position of an object is continuously change with respect to its surrounding, then it is said to be in the state of motion.

Example:- A train moving On rails.

Types Of Motion

On the basis of nature of path followed, motion is classified as-

(I) Rectilinear motion

(II) Circular Motion

(III) Oscillatory Motion

(IV) One Dimensional Motion

(V) Two Dimensional Motion

(VI) Three Dimensional Motion
